Bonding
An alternative to veneers is a procedure called bonding. The tooth is prepared then composite resin is added to the tooth and moulded then finally shaped.
Bonding is generally not as permanent a process as veneers, and can be vulnerable to the same kind of staining your natural teeth are prone to. Bonding can also be more prone to chips and cracks than veneers, but are easily repaired.
The main advantage of bonding is that there is rarely any shaving or reducing of the tooth structure. No impression is required and they are generally less expensive than porcelain veneers or crowns.
Crowns are generally preferred to bonding when a stronger result is required.
